Many warehouse and wholesale roles are covered by the Storage Services and Wholesale Award. Classification depends on duties (picking/packing, forklift, team leader). Exact rates vary by level — we publish the NMW floor rather than inventing classification figures.
Rates from 1 July 2026
- National Minimum Wage floor: $26.44/hr
- Award/agreement-free casual: $33.05/hr
Casual warehouse work
Labour-hire and casual warehouse shifts are common for backpackers. Confirm casual loading, overtime after ordinary hours, and whether night or weekend penalties apply to your roster.
