Many on-site roles are covered by the Building and Construction General On-site Award. Rates vary widely by classification, tickets and enterprise agreements. Construction pay often sits above the National Minimum Wage — so the NMW is only a floor.
Floor from 1 July 2026
- National Minimum Wage: $26.44/hr
- Award/agreement-free casual: $33.05/hr
We do not invent Building Award classification rates. Confirm your level in the Fair Work Pay Calculator before relying on any advertised figure.
