How mining rosters work
8/6, 2/1, 2/2 and why the roster changes your life more than the job title.
Rosters are written as days on / days off: 8/6, 2 weeks / 1 week, 2/2 and other site variants. Even rostered “time off” can be eaten by flights. A 12-hour night shift on a 2/1 is a different life from a residential day shift in Kalgoorlie.
Always read the roster on the ad. Do not assume every FIFO job is two-and-one.
