Exmouth
Exmouth is the town for Ningaloo Reef. Turquoise Bay and Osprey Bay are the well-known snorkelling beaches inside Cape Range National Park, a short drive from town. The reef sits close to shore, which is why a boat is optional rather than required. It is still a remote coast: the highway between Carnarvon and Karratha has long gaps, and a 21-day Perth to Broome plan should give Exmouth more than a single night.
